Neck lift surgery or lower rhytidectomy is a cosmetic surgery for reducing issues in the neck and jawline areas, such as excess fat and skin, wrinkling, jowl lines, or double chins.
Neck lift surgery can take two to four hours and is performed under general anesthesia or intravenous sedation.
Incisions are made either in the hairline or around the ear, depending on the method. The fat, tissue, and muscle are repositioned according to the desired outcome, and excess skin is removed. Another incision might be done under the chin for performing liposuction and repairing the muscle.
